She had a very clear idea of what she wanted and put together the very clear and precise brief seen below. We at Iris were so delighted with the result that we made this piece one of our stock items, see here If you wish to order a bespoke item don't be put off by the professional drawing provided by this client, we can also work from simple sketches, doodles and written descriptions too. This French styled console table was ordered for a customer in our fabulous embossed White Metal. Our artisans in Rajasthan emboss sheets of Nickel alloy (known as White Metal) by hand in a technique that has not changed since the days of the Mughal emperors. Carved wooden blocks are used on which the sheets are gently hammered to imprint the floral motifs onto the metal sheets which are then stretched over the wooden frame of the furniture. Many more examples of Embossed White Metal furniture can be found on our web site here Please call 01273671443 to start your bespoke furniture consultation.
Another striking example of the unique art of Mirror Glass inlay, only found in one city in the world, Udaipur in India. The Mirror Glass inlay tradition started in the palaces of Udaipur, this Peacock below being one such example. This chest has French legs for added elegance.
